Host Family Requirements
We are proud of the quality and professionalism of our Dublin host family network. To ensure a positive experience for all parties, we ask that our host families:
Provide a clean, comfortable private single, twin, or triple bedroom (shared rooms for two or three students of the same gender is what most students are looking for - if you have a single room which is large enough, why not add another bed?)
Offer breakfast and dinner
Live within commuting distance to Dublin city centre (should be accessible by public transport)
Be willing to engage with students and help them settle into Irish life
Allow and support student independence while maintaining a welcoming environment
We accept families, couples, or individuals, and we are happy to work with experienced hosts as well as first-time applicants.
Our Students
The students you welcome into your home are typically aged 17 to 25. They are mature, respectful, and independent, selected by their schools and prepared for their stay in Ireland.
They visit Dublin for an average of 2 to 4 weeks as part of the Erasmus+ programme, gaining valuable work experience in Irish companies during the week. Many of them are future professionals in areas such as business, IT, hospitality, or healthcare.
Our students come primarily from Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, and are:
Supervised and supported by their sending schools and our team
Committed to making the most of their cultural and professional exchange
At ADC College, we maintain close relationships with schools and carefully match students to suitable host families across Dublin.
