He is a lovely young man, very friendly and polite and has a great work ethic!

This is just one of many good things Aisling Callan, Programme Administration Manager at IBAT College had to say about her most recent intern Till Schumann. In fact, Till left such a great impression that he was highly recommended for the title “Student of the month”. See what Till has to say about his time in Dublin:

Tell me a little bit about yourself and your background. What sparked your interest in Business Administration?

Hello my name is Till Schumann I am 18 years old and I am doing an apprenticeship as industrial clerk at a big automotive and industrial supplier which is called Schaeffler. I opted for the apprenticeship because I like working with numbers and I realised during my school days that I also have a talent in dealing with numbers.

In my free time I play football and train a youth team. In addition, I am very interested in the stock market.

What was it like working at IBAT College Dublin? What were your tasks?

The colleagues at the IBAT College were very friendly and nice and a lot of jokes were made, which of course eased the working atmosphere. As described by my manager, I had to add a large amount of records to the system.

The commute to IBAT College took about 20 minutes. At my host family in Killbarack I got onto the Dart (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) and got out at Tara Station. Thanks to the fact that IBAT College is located directly in the Temple Bar, I only had to walk for 5 minutes.

He was a huge help to the admissions team here

What was the best moment of your trip?

The best thing I saw during my stay was the Cliffs of Moher. That day there was bright sunshine and it was 20 degrees warm. In addition, I could look very far over the Atlantic which is very unusual for the Cliffs of Moher because there is often fog.

What are your plans for the future?

I expect to finish my apprenticeship as an industrial clerk next winter and will then work and do further training.
