Crossing the language barrier is one of the biggest fears among our students. It is normal to feel nervous ahead of the London Internship Programme and most of the time, students get used to speaking English after a few days. But there are ways you can prepare for your trip to the UK and get used to the British accent. Immersing yourself in British culture by reading books, watching films with English subtitles or listening to music are three great ways to freshen up on your skills.

The British music scene spans everything from rock n' roll to grime and ska. As part of our British and Irish culture feature series, we put together a list of songs that will inspire students before their big journey. Everything from The Beatles's masterpiece 'A Day in the Life'  to 'American Boy' by Estelle and 2016’s 'Fool to Love' by NAO. And no, London Calling didn't make the cut.
